Bought this for a friend who was losing money on almost every job. Great book. We made it PC friendly and usable on an I Phone. He's doing much better. There are a lot of hidden aspects of residential construction and remodelling that the book clarifies. This book tells you how it should be done and what it will cost.

This is great resource for verifying prices. If they are more than 20% different from these numbers, start asking questions. They either made a mistake in their calculations which will bite everyone later or they are guessing which will not be any fun either.

Excellent! A clearly written, non-nonsense guide that is just what I needed. Excel isn't that bewildering once you start to get its basic concepts, which is just what this book does.

I was more hoping this would be a “how to” book. I learn by doing and this isn’t exactly a guide. It tells you what columns, rows, and cells are and what things you can put in the function bar, but no examples of anything are given. I thumbed through it, but without being able to experiment with different things, it honestly wasn’t a great help to me.

This slim book is really of no use, it doesn't even cover essential functions like rounding, and it says nothing about calculating a spreadsheet. Look elsewhere.

This was very helpful for someone with no excel experience. I am now able to understand the basic principles of excel.

To fully enjoy this book you must share at least some of that passion as well. At times I found it to be a bit long winded as he kept adding fact after fact leading up to proving his points and explaining his theories. But once he finally gets to those points, its usually something pretty cool. I definitely had more fun reading the first book in this series, but I did thoroughly enjoy this one as well. I will continue to read the books in this series.

Start with his first book, 'The Twelfth Planet'. If you are new to ancient history, do not get hung up on the names. There is plenty of repetition so that by the end of the book you will know who is whom.

This book primarily covers man's quest to achieve immortality from the "gods". Sitchin, as in Book I, compares and contrasts archaeological findings, the Bible, writings of historians throughout the ages and mythology to formulate his conclusions. It is hard to believe as coincidence that every civilization in every age had the identical tale to the Sumerican king, Gilgamesh.And where did Gilgamesh's journey take him to speak to the "gods"? The evidence seems to point to a spaceport where the "gods" travelled from earth to the heavens. The arguments are more than convincing, and the drawings, geometric measurements and descriptions of these places - Giza, Heliopolis, Mt. Ararat - are hard to ignore.The history of Earth in our currently accepted paradigm is very problematic and not really credible. Sitchin certainly got my attention with the Earth Chronicle series.

The book is incredibly interesting, giving perspective and alternate theory on historical facts that haven't been and may never been proven. Good stuff.

Mr. Bax along with his Father, Mom, his sisters and wife, Carol have led quite an adventurous life. Some of his adventures with his sister reminded me of those with mine…which remain timeless to this day.The book takes on a more serious note although with still amazingly funny and harrowing adventures once Mr. Bax joins the Rhodesian Light Infantry and then the Selous Scouts. The stories of his training and his deployments are quite amazing.I was very happy that I had read his “Who will teach the Wisdom” first. It gave me an interesting insight when reading “Three Sips of Gin” and filled in some of his missions, which made them feel that more real and brought home the dangers of the one-on-one meeting with terrorists.The impact of both books made me realize how important other people and events play a role in one’s development and how one would have been a different person if they had not met those individuals or experienced the events one did in the order they occurred.I especially related to the inner question of what happened during a certain point in Mr. Bax’s life. Somethings just cannot be explained by the physical world.The politics of the world and the ego-play of those who move nations like they are pawns was very intriguing. A very eye-opening account of the games of nation and world politics played on a grand level.Reading them both created a beautiful sandwich. Due to the order that I read them (I read “Who will teach the Wisdom” again after I read “Three Sips of Gin”. It felt like I had created a Wisdom-Gin-Wisdom lunch. No matter what order you read them, I would recommend reading both. Both books complement one another very well and when meshed together give an excellent story of insights to an incredible life of one man those around him.I will also say, I found that the women in Mr. Bax’s life, his Mom, his sisters, his wife Carol, her nurse relative and his numerous very Monty Pylon-ish teachers, probably added a little flavor to his overall personality. In some cases, saved his life!Not to mention the men that he served with and met during his time in Rhodesia. An amazing group of warriors. A big shout out to all of them, past and present.Great reads both books. I highly recommend them both.

I really enjoyed Tim Bax's book, Three Sips Of Gin. I purchased it because I thought it was going to be about his experience with the Selous Scouts. It is much more and as such, Bax makes it autobiographical. There are some hilarious anecdotes about his experience before, during, and after his service to Rhodesia. I have never met Bax, that I can remember, but had met his mentor, Ron Reid-Daly. All references, by Bax are accurate as to time, place, etc. It makes for a very entertaining read as well as being historically accurate. Bax doesn't bore one with the politics, of the time, or the continued interference with Rhodesia's internal operation by MI-6 and the C.I.A. (and interfere, they did). I served in Rhodesia,in the early 70's, so the stories brought back fond memories of the country of my grandparents. I liked this book so much, I purchased Bax's book, "Who Will Teach The Wisdom". He tells a great story, and the book is an easy read that holds your attention. Welgedaan broer Bax .........

I bought the Kindle edition of this book on the reccomendation of John Connor, who writes mostly color article for the firearms press. Before buying, I read the reviews which were distinctly bimodal. Most were positive, but a substantial minority were negative. Oddly, I found myself agreeing with both groups. The book is a delightful, down-to-earth collection of anecdotes from the author's life, a decade of which coincided with the last decade of Rhodesia. The author is no Hemingway, but he tells his tales in authentic, truthful, candid language which I found thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. I laughed out loud multiple times reading this book. Negative reviewers complain the book is not a scholarly history, and they are correct. If you want to understand the history of this important battle of the Cold War, there are better choices. If you want to be entertained and educated about one person's perspective, it's a great read!PS - I learned about "pink gin" from this book, which may be the best cocktail I've had....

This is certainly a story that needed to be written. It speaks not only to the failed dreams of the state of Rhodesia, but to the shifting geopolitical sands faced by armed forces who must adjust to the ever changing policies of their civilian leaders. It is, therefore, a story too often repeated, unfortunately. For those young men who once harbored a notion to join the Rhodesian army to become "a man among men", this was an excellent look into those times, as well as a peek at the end game that could have awaited them.

Having read most of what has been published on the Rhodesian Bush War, this book captures not only the gritty details of a war that was fought on every front by a small band of men who were warriors who made what little they had work extremely well, but it gives an insight into the lives of those hardy fighters who lived as the enemy for weeks at a time and were then catapulted back into 'normal' life overnight. A warming story of one man's war showing the human side of a shadow fighter. It's worth your money....

This is a well written account of life on the line for a warrior in just one more war that was lost by unwilling government leaders, but fought by men who lived life with gusto.

This is an excellent memoir and look at the world the author knew. Mr. Bax is a first-rate author and his no-nonsense writing style will keep your attention from start to finish. If you’re just looking for a collection of war stories you might find this book disappointing, because it’s much more than that. Three Sips of Gin isn’t so much about the war in Rhodesia, but the story of one man’s life.

I have not finished the book, but so far the author's story and story-telling ability make this book worth every penny!

I'm a huge fan of the Kingdom Hearts and this manga series does not disappoint! I actually feel like I understand Sora better as a character after reading it. Definitely worth it for any Kingdom hearts fan or someone trying to get into the series.
