About the Author

Marc Harshman’s collection of poems, Believe What You Can (West Virginia University Press), and his thirteenth children’s book, One Big Family (Eerdmans), were both published in 2017. His monthly show for West Virginia Public Radio, “The Poetry Break,” began airing in 2016. He was also an invited reader at the 2016 Greenwich Book Festival in London and is the seventh poet laureate of West Virginia. Anna Egan Smucker is the author of several children's books, including No Star Nights, winner of the International Reading Association Children's Book Award. This is a great way to learn about America's most beautiful residence! A fun STEM book!

This picture book focuses on just one on Frank Lloyd Wright’s buildings, Fallingwater. It looks at the process that Wright used to design the building, from viewing the site itself to thinking for a very long time about what he would design. I’m so happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed! The story is easy to follow as we learn about the history of Fallingwater. I was fascinated to learn the step by step process that Wright followed to create this amazing house that was not built with a view of the waterfall on Bull Run Stream, but was built on top of it! I highly recommend Falling Water to anyone interested in architecture, child or adult. This is truly an inspirational story about an amazing person.

Naturally, I'm biased, but this is a well-crafted story by seasoned, award-winning authors combined with an illustrator who brings Fallingwater to life.

A beautiful and inspiring story about Frank Lloyd Wright's process of designing and building a one-of-a-kind home with amazing illustrations to match. It left me saying "So can I."

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and it had quite a bit of suspense in it. The story was hard to read but so very true even to what we are seeing in the Middle East today. It had a great deal of sorrow but also so much joy. I will read anything Lynn Austin writes.I always loved King Hezekiah but now even more!! He stood for what was right and he STOOD no matter what his "advisers" told him. Against all odds he STOOD for our Lord. Excellent read.

I liked this second book in Lynn Austin's Chronicles of the Kings series very much. Lynn Austin writes a strong narrative on Old Testament figures in the tradition of Anita Diamant's The Red Tent. Other reviewers have noted Austin's use of 21st century language to convey the fictionalized account of Judah's King Hezekiah, who ruled from 716 to 687 BC. On one or two occasions, the contemporary language was a bit much for me; the rest of the time it rang true. Song of Redemption includes the Hebrew Scriptures of 2 Kings 17 and 18, 2 Chronicles 29 and 32, Deuteronomy 17, 2 Samuel 5, and the prophecies of Isaiah and Micah.The book conveys belief, unbelief, misbelief, and confused belief in God with great skill. It also conveys those degrees of belief in many gods. And idolatry is not confined to multiple gods but is found in those who believe in the One God. In this, the book is a prequel, if you will, of today.How does God (if there is a God, some say) act (if God does act, some say) in the world? Song of Redemption explores this in King Hezekiah's efforts to defend his kingdom and his people against the Assyrians. Disciplined and well organized killers, they were, as the book portrays them. I looked up Assyria on wikipedia for a look at what basic historians say about them. Oh my goodness. This series it so good. Lynn Austin is seriously one of the best christian authors out there. I can be very picky with books... but this one... it definitely hits the spot. There is just enough adventure, mystery, faith and romance to satisfy all readers. Most importantly, however, the author takes a great biblical story and sticks to the word which creating a whole world full of unique characters and experiences that are appropriate and believable for the time. The author also really builds on the characters and story... You can tell she did her research. Also... It definitely never has a dull moment. I'd pay for this series all over again. I have loaned the book out to any friend that would just take the minute to read the first chapter.... You won't put it down after that.

King Hezekiah has replaced his father Ahaz on the throne of David, tearing down all the shrines and altars his father erected to idols in Judah.Hezekiah leads his people in returning to worship the God of Israel, and in so doing, Judah prospers. But he must also face the threat of the mighty Assyrian army that continues a reign of terror and slaughter, annihilating all who oppose them. Ahaz turned Judah into a vassal nation under his rule, paying yearly tribute to Assyria, but Hezekiah resists, believing God will protect him and his people.In addition to Hezekiah's test of faith, and the looming threat of destruction at the hands of the Assyrians, there is a secondary plot involving a young girl named Jerusha, who is abducted by the Assyrians early in the novel. For much of the book we see their cruelty through her eyes. Eventually, her life will intertwine with those in Hezekiah's inner circle, bringing the plot threads and this story to a very satisfying ending.What I like best about these books is the vivid way in which Ms. Austin brings the Old Testament to life. From the people, to the customs and setting, it's like stepping back in time. The message at the heart of each novel speaks to the soul--through trial and tribulation, God is true.

This is an amazing book. I've read Hypnobirthing, Orgasmic Birth, the Bradley Method, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and a million blogs. I get sucked in :)This book was by far my favorite.Why? More than any of the others, it recognizes that there isn't ONE right/perfect way. So many natural birth advocates are so exclusive and cliquey and mom-judgers : like if you don't birth at home or in a birth center with 0 interventions, you're a weaker mother and already failing your baby. Opinions like this make me mad because they're just not true.Suzy's book is so empowering because she says that NO body ever fails at birth. We are all incredible. It's about being informed and prepared and practicing openness to whatever experience arises for us. Letting go of fear. A good lesson for LIFE too.

When pregnant with my first I looked into hypnobirthing and tried Hypnobabies. When I was pregnant with my second I found I wanted to check out other hypnobirthing resources. I loved this book because it was an easy, quick read. The book really helped me have a pleasant unmedicated birth.

Loved this! Great book. Well read too, the author has such a calming voice. Very reassuring and empowering. I listened to it maybe 4 times before I had my baby. I recommended to several friends and ultimately enjoyed the labor process. I was open minded to whatever journey baby and body lead me on. That is the message of the book. To create a mindset where you are not afraid. You got this, you can do it, no matter where your birth story goes. However, things went really well and I was able to go all natural. This book teaches you to listen to your body, your body was made to do this. It’s not too granola, it’s science based- relaxing your mind relaxes your body. It teaches you methods and reassures you repeatedly. You got this! You have to be relaxed so the baby can descend. Overall an amazing book that helped me overcome my fears of labor. My husband and I now have a great memory, which was the goal. I didn’t want a memory of pain or complications. Cant say enough about this book. Thank you Suzy!!

I grabbed this book at 39 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby. I wish I had this earlier! I had read the Hypnobirthing book with my last baby so I was already familiar with the points in this book. But it was a great refresher. It would make a great starting book for someone wanting to get started with hypnobirthing. Overall great book and I have been recommending it to my pregnant friends.

I bought this book a few weeks before I was due, and it really helped me learn the benefits and importance of staying calm and optimistic about childbirth and through the birthing process. The breathing techniques and other tips are great! While I wouldn’t say I’m a hypnobirthing pro after labor, I would def. say this book is well worth it for anyone looking to have the best birthing experience possible. I’m REALLY glad I read it and like being a part of the online FB community.

Disappointed. The only thing of value in this entire book was a breathing technique of slow controlled breathing in and out and breathing the baby down. Nothing else worth noting.

This really helped me to have the right perspective heading into giving birth to my first child. I would recommend this as a must read to anyone no matter what type of delivery they are planning.

First, this is a glossary of terms + ads for pay SEO services. If I wanted to pay someone for services I wouldn't buy a book to tell me who to pick. Very bad.Second, the book is loaded with misprinted pages, especially the photos. See attached pics.Wow. What a waste of money. :(

This is an exceptional resource that I should have read much earlier in my web career. I own and operate two businesses that are predominantly driven through web traffic, and have relied exclusively on outsourced SEO. This book provides ANYONE who has a website and relies on it for their livelihood to gain enough knowledge to effectively manage their vendors, if not enough to handle the basics in-house. The book was written about 5 years ago - after the last "big wave" of changes in how Google ranks and the Bing/Yahoo combo for search. Based on what I know, the information and approach is still solid. While the vendors and some of the tactics have changed - and the pace of change on the web is extreme - the book hits the spot.

Easy to understand and very thorough.I expect the next edition out relatively soon, but this book was too good to not have a copy of.

The four authors did a great job in the scope of the subject matter in this book. The publisher did a great job with The Table of Contents, Glossary and Index as all are comprehensive.This book should have a 5-star rating. However, the publisher provides page after page of screen captures that are not legible! I paid $45.36, including sales tax, for this book and should return it, based upon the very poor reproduction of the many screen captures. However, I'll retain it, based upon the excellence of material provided by the four authors.The staff at O'Reilly Media produced a quality book with good typography, cover design, paper stocks and perfect binding. This leads me to be completely baffled by their complete disregard of the terrible quality of the screen captures throughout the book.This book is worth purchasing. But be forewarned, as you may be as frustrated as I am, about the terrible reproduction of every screen capture throughout the book.

This is one monster of a book on SEO. Very technically written, not for the ultra-novice, "just starting out online" reader in my opinion.But, after reading this, I got the feeling that I received a firm and solid education on the subject in a WIDE variety of areas. Not to mention, I am a fan of books that can be technically written without sounding "ultra-clinical".I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has read a bunch of blogs or other info on SEO (some of which is misinformation), and really wants the foundational education to keep on their bookshelf as a reference.

Keep this book onyour shelf for a handy reference. It's a great text book for those who want to know SEO. Of course, it constantly changes, but this offers the basics and you'll be glad you have it. Share it with folks who wonder "what are you talking about?" Share it with those who think getting to rank in Google is easy.

I am a co-founder of a fiancial services website and wanted an introductory book on SEO. I was only familar with Adwords at the time. I wanted a book to provide me with a foundation of knowledge of all of the basic concepts of SEO and how to further expand my study. Not too technical that I couldn't understand it, but not too simple that would provide no value. I also did not want a book which sugar-coated the ease and effectiveness of SEO. This book delieved. I highly recommend to anyone beginning their exploration of SEO to buy and read this book. I plan on reading the book a second time, to take extensive notes to reference for further study.

The content was very good. However the problem is that the book should have been 200 pages shorter, at least. Many parts repeat themselves multiple time throughout the book. It's clear that there were multiple authors, and they did not take the time to make sure concepts were not repeated needlessly.
