I got the first version of this book about 20 years ago when it first came out and it's definitely a must-have for serious blackjack players libraries so then when I saw this 3rd Edition out and it advertises that it has 224 pages I thought that it must have a lot more new content that's definitely worth checking out but they're not being honest about the number of pages at all because it only has about 189 pages total I believe and there's barely any new content from what I can see, so far just a slight variation of the KO what they call the Rad system is the only real difference or addition that I notice so I don't really see a reason to have a 3rd revision when they really didn't add much new content at all but for people that never bought this book to begin with I would say you should definitely pick it up but for people that already have a previous version for me like what another reviewer also states I don't see what the point is of having this 3rd version when there's basically hardly nothing new which is why I'm only giving it 3 stars!

This was not what I was expecting. The book is very small and is mostly little sayings or inspirational wisdom, not really what I consider a full-fledged devotional. I was expecting stories with a bible verse for each day. It's not bad, but it's not what I was looking for.

If you are a KO preferred user or a KO full user, don’t waste money on this so called “Third Edition, Revised and Expanded” edition. It is really not much different from the older edition.

This card counting method is akin to the easier Hi-Lo method, and in my opinion it is not as easy to learn as the Hi-Lo. The book offers "advice" about how to get away with card counting in a casino. AS IF. Do you think the casino bosses haven't read this book, too?

And this is A Good Thing.”I wanted a light and fun, but deeply interesting read to bring on a summer trip, and this book turned out to be the perfect choice. It offered a pretty entertaining look at Danish culture and society, all through the lens of why they continually rank among the highest countries in terms of happiness.I’m not too hard to please with a good book that takes on the premise of “I’ll try this out for a year and then write about it,” and this book fits that description to a tee. The writing is light and engaging enough to make it easy to fly right through its pages, yet contains enough statistics and odd facts to keep you intrigued. Did you know that Danish women can get an ovulation discount for booking their travel around a ripe time for them to procreate? I do now.After a while you get the formula of each chapter: an anecdote, a few statistics, an interview with a randomly found “expert,” and the constant questioning of various Danes about how happy they are on a scale of 1 to 10. That said, the book manages to be pretty interesting in spite of its persistence upon this formula, so I suppose that’s a big win.As far as Denmark goes? I could probably do without the tax rate (although, that comes with some major benefits), cultural homogeny, and the never-ending darkness come November, but there’s a lot about the Danish Way that I do appreciate. The lack of self-importance reflected in that earlier quote… I think that’s refreshing. And I love the way they’re able to enjoy their work. Not to mention the practice of hygge and getting all cozy as a sport.

I went to Copenhagen this fall and really enjoyed it. So when I saw this I got as a gift for my traveling companion. Just thought I’d glance through it before wrapping. Lost the rest of the evening and some of this afternoon.1. Helen (short first name) captured the expat experience very well. I’ve been there and to think of her so isolated is overwhelming.2. The writing is very good. Some repetition by October-November was getting tedious. Better editing would have helped.3. The outsiders perspective of local customs can be so tricky. The locals don’t understand what you don’t understand or find humorous or puzzling. You can only discuss with someone who has not gotten onboard, it appeared LEGO Man was well acculturated. I’d say he could have more sympathetic to the situation.NOTE: I started in the middle and wondered if he were Danish going home. When I began at the beginning after finishing it last night more things became clear.4. Helen has a wicked sense of humor and a lovely turn of phrase. I had been commenting recently that I don’t feel I laugh as often as I used to. My husband came out to the living room to see if I was ok. My laughter and gasping for breath pierced the length of our American-size, carpeted Home and his earbuds. No small feat.5. I enjoyed the format of the book and the theme of trust and happiness. I just read in the news about the Danish woman arrested years ago for endangering her baby. I’ve seen it done in the early 1980s in the north end of Boston too.If you’ve lived abroad, read it.If you’re contemplating living abroad, read it.If you are interested in Scandinavia, Denmark in particular, read it.If you are in need of several good belly laughs, read it.I recommend this book. Will there be Year 2 coming?

In this century the same sense of alienation and mild cultural clash are more likely to come from native speakers of English who wind up in similarly well-developed countries with different languages and cultures: France in the highly successful FRENCH KIDS EAT EVERYTHING or in THE YEAR OF LIVING DANISHLY, in which a go-getting London journalist and her amiable husband ("Lego Man") commit to a year in a remote coastal village on Jutland.What could go wrong? Russell's core concern is that the Danes regularly count as among the happiest of people, perhaps THE happiest, though at times she finds her new environment more than bleak and her neighbors a bit stand-offish -- even her high-tech dryer flashes "SLUT" at her when done, because that's the Danish word for "Complete."With the changing seasons and her growing competence at modern Danish life providing minimal narrative "glue," the focus of this book is really a series of brightly written lifestyle articles based on her interviews with those Danish experts. While Russell kindly translates the value of DKK (Danish Kronor) into both Pounds Sterling and US Dollars, some of her UK locutions sent me straight for the dictionary: a "gilet" is what we Yanks would call a padded vest, and "Salopettes" are something like "overalls" for example. Many books currently on the market set out to define the elusive "hygge"; this book makes it clear that what you really need, besides a well-built, snug and orderly house with furniture and candles of the very first order, are something of a Danish mindset that LIKES to cocoon during the cold months. A fun book, though at times the attitude of a go-to journalist who was clearly unhappier than she liked to admit got a tad wearing. This book is great for beginning beginners. Not for people who read up on crypto daily.I will not be HODLing this book.

The single worst book (of any type) I've come across in years! The level of detail and writing style is terrible. This book is not worth your time or money. I found this book posted multiple times...and was showing a 5 stars (what a bunch of bull). The necessary and essential details related to Ethereum, blockchain, DAO, and descriptions about the "the potential" of the related technologies are 'absent' from this book. There are much better resources than this.

Easy read, fun to learn about.

I enjoyed the book. This was actually my first audiobook, and I will never go back. The voice isn't the most exciting (to be fair, it is a fairly boring topic). However, the book was full of usefull information. I did not learn much, but I did learn more about the difference between Ethereum and Ethereum Classic. I would say this book would be more suited for "noobs"? lol. If you have never really experienced cryptocurrency then you will really learn alot from this book. He goes into detail on different types of wallets and exchanges with lists of pros and cons. I already have several GPUs mining away, so I was very familar to this topic already. But like I said, someone just starting out will learn alot from this!

Just trying to explain what ethereum is and some basics. No technical stuff. Most discussions are shallow. Ok to know but not enough.

It's a good short read for someone new to Ethereum and Blockchain. Would definitely recommend anyone that have heard about Ethereum but don't know what it actually is to read it. However, do not expect to become an expert after reading it, it should only be a start

Great job with this, it's detailed, it gets into the tech but it stays to true to a basic reading level in terms of being accessible for the masses. I learned a lot from this book.

What Juliana does in Radical Outcomes is focus on a set of clear actions anyone can take no matter where they sit in an organization. The key advice is on outcomes vs. activity. Many times, people toil away at a set of activities they have been told to do without connecting them to the outcomes a business may be trying to drive. Worse yet (mostly in large companies), they may have no idea whether or not their day to day work drives any outcome that matters to their company. Radical Outcomes provides a path to focus readiness within your organization on the outcomes of each role vs. simply providing 'readiness' to teams.I've rarely come across a business book which attempts to provide actual tools and guidance for implementing the advice they have to share. Most of the time, I find that business books share a bunch of anecdotes for what provided success to one person / team / company at a point in time with a set of circumstances unique to them. While it may be inspiring, it doesn't usually help much with your current circumstances.While many of the examples given apply specifically to organizational development, training, and role readiness - I found that quite a bit of the advice given can be useful in a general sense. As a leader, there are also a few great tips that one may or may not think about, but even if you do, these are solid reminders of their value.This book is for: managers, leaders, HR, learning and development professionals.Full disclosure: I read a pre-release copy and personally know the author - however I do believe Juliana has hit upon a key business value topic that I haven't seen covered elsewhere and which can really help business leaders. Great work!

This book helped to clarify the relationship between Paul's theology and Luke's unique perspective and and theology. The author's perspective was helpful to me as a charismatic evangelical.

Perhaps, like none I have ever seen, Stronstad takes you on an amazing review of the foundational building blocks to Luke's two New Testament documents. He shows, in the clearest fashion, how Luke believed that the coming of Jesus and the subsequent coming of the Holy Spirit was clearly foreshadowed in the prophetic types and movements of the Old Testament. After one reads Stronstad's little theology there will be no going back to shallower ideas regarding the prophetic spirit God is anointing his church with today.

Very good reading in Luke literacy, you must have this book in your library.

The author was able to provide such a solid case for Luke's Charismatic Theology to be complemented with Paul's writings on the Holy Spirit. The author achieved this and never seemed long-winded.

Having lived in Northern New Mexico for twenty years I was surprised and delighted to hear some back stories about the recent history of the area.Lucy Moore tells about events that have shaped our lives in this area in ways that bring the people and events into focus without sugarcoating the difficulties of changes in populations, environments and the interactions of diverse cultures. IT is is ongoing and she does not tell us about conclusions and fixes but how this ongoing search for mediation really works.

Lucy is a very very wise and fine environmental mediator - a founder of the field, and a rare soul who walks her talk. This book is a gem, an opportunity to spend time with Lucy, glimpse her magic and steep in her remarkable yet humble insights. But it is her gift as a story teller that draws you in and lights the west on fire- and you finish the book with only a inkling of how much you have just learned. Read it, and then treasure it.

In each of the 10 stories contained in this collection, Lucy Moore provides vivid descriptions of the physical, social, psychological, and emotional terrain that constitutes the "hostile turf" and the mediation processes used in the search -- sometimes futile -- to find common ground. A remarkable achievement in a compact volume.

Had to read this for a class, and still managed to enjoy it thoroughly. The stories presented provide lessons and insights in a palatable way, and their sequence creates a nice arc.

Common Ground on Hostile Turf is a book of great stories, and as Lucy Moore points out, stories are fundamental to successful mediation and facilitation. As a mediator, I was captivated by the book was intelligent, instructive, and entertaining.

I live in the area and I knew Molly and her family. I didn't know all they were doing so the story told me the rest of what I didn't know.

The author was spurred to become a mediator in environmental disputes by sitting in on a community trying to come together over water. New Mexico had a fraught history of water rights disputes, but now wells were being contaminated by too many septic tanks. Native peoples and towns as well as agriculture were at odds but a strong tribal leader, Governor Viarreal, held a general meeting on tribal land so he could control matters - no press, no mentions of existing legal suits - then when that day's meeting was over, a welcome lunch was served to all. Seeing how the community that talked together, worked together, and ultimately benefited everyone, the author began a quarter century (to date) career of mediation.We are told that the mediator may receive confidences by one side or other which must always be kept private. There may be co-mediators. With cross-cultural tensions, industry and poverty, ecology and toxic waste, there were plenty of disputes in the author's area. She found however that being funded by a foundation, however benign, made her suspect in the eyes of traditional people who felt their way of life was at risk. They could not move away while incomers could. Some people were concerned to know who she herself was, where her family lived, what made her so interested in other words.The situations explained are so potentially complex that a reader may not read all the detail; focusing instead on the broader picture of sheep grazing rights in the green mountains, or water rights grievances when environmentalists tried to ensure that a river would retain rights to enough water still to make it a river. However if you are into local politics or social work, there are some firm lessons to be learned - even that the method of getting people to introduce themselves around a group table won't be the same for every meeting. Many home owners are too busy to want to take time to argue around a table, preferring to hold an entrenched position and get on with the work of survival.The author's group of mediators developed a mission statement and set of policies for press, record keeping, responsibilities and other issues. Amazingly she says that developing these regulations took 'a gruelling two and a half years' so the message would be to start early and agree a few basics before anything more complex occurs. But then, committees are often that way. She found one person on an environmental issues committee who sat through all the discussions in 'bad faith' intending to throw water on the results and sabotage any consensus. Again, committees can be that way. Persons like this are not going to change.Although the author's field had been natural resources disputes, she was later asked to mediate on the issue of educating tribal children. Her work with local people had made others see her as fitted to mediate in this area. She made sure to have diversity in the mediation team. Some observers were permitted at this time, including a high school student who told her elders that they looked like kids squabbling over candy. The author felt that observers might encourage posturing. She learned that historical trauma remains with many people regarding their ethnic community, making them innately suspicious of outsiders.Looking at a community with a toxic waste pile of uranium tailings from a bankrupt company mine down the road, poisoning aquifers and blowing dust, the author shows us why intervention is needed. Yet when she was called in, the group planning a cleanup just wanted her for 'hired guns for crowd control' at meetings with the community. The agency was filled with initials, acronyms and scientific jargon. The local people pointed out that when the mine opened, they hadn't known much, hadn't known the questions to ask. Now they were better educated on the topic. Such issues are all part of the mediator's challenges.The final part presents a summing of up lessons learned, which are related to the locations of the book but could be adapted. Anyone in this field could learn a lot. I am not giving a higher rating because at times the story seems too personal a memoir and too involved in the minutiae - which to the author, may be the point, but to an uninvolved reader, slow down the story and make us want to skip ahead to some kind of resolution. A good book to team with this one, for people keen to explore tribal and environmental issues clashing with pollution problems, would be Peter Matthiessen's 'Indian Country'.

Very happy to have an Arabic counting book. The numbers are written in numerals, in Arabic and transliteration (spelled out phonetically). Since the story is written in English, I don't mind the transliterations. This story is amazing. My daughter loves to count in Arabic (teaching her anything is nearly impossible, though) so this book works perfectly for us.It's also fun to introduce her to the stories of Goha fables and this story weaves the essence of Goha while being a fun counting book, too!

As a native Arabic speaker, I am excited to read this to my daughter to introduce her to Arabic! The character of the story is a legend I grew up hearing about, so I love how they incorporated Arab culture. The Arabic is well written and the pronunciation help is extremely helpful for my wife, who is a non native speaker.

Great way to teach children how to count in Arabic. My children just love this book as simple as it is. Perhaps a person who's not familiar with the pronunciation could find it on a video online, because you need to have some linguistic basics to read the transcription of the numbers. For instance, I speak a dialect of Arabic so it was no problem for me, but my spouse, who speaks English and French could not pronounce some of the numbers very well.

There are a handful of English language learners in my daughter's first grade class this year and some of them speak Arabic. She likes learning from her new friends and even happily came home to share with me how to play Rock, Paper, Scissors in Arabic. So I got her this book as a stocking stuffer so she could learn to count in Arabic. She loves it! And I'm happy it gives the correct pronunciation at the beginning and it's a cute, funny story. I'm only taking a star off because it's incredibly repetitive, even for a kid's story.

Cute book based on a traditional Arabic "*Juha" story. I first heard this story orally in Morocco, and this book did a good job telling it to an English audience while learning numbers in Arabic.*Juha is a wise-fool who fills many tales throughout the Arab world, especially in North Africa, though sometimes going by other names.

A wonderful addition to our curriculum

Cute book. Has some humor. It is quite repetitive but it helps kids learn to count in Arabic and English!

Love this book! It's in English too so I can read it, not just my husband who speaks Arabic. We read it to my daughter's pre-school class, and they enjoyed it too!
